TrustAfrica lance une nouvelle initiative d'octroi de subventions destinées aux acteurs de la Société. A cet effet, elle invite les organisations dûment qualifiées d'Éthiopie, du Kenya, du Nigeria et du Burkina Faso à postuler pour des subventions de renforcement des capacités et de soutien opérationnel de base. Sous le concept " Initiative de soutien à la société civile africaine", l’opération vise à fournir un soutien opérationnel de base aux organisations qui font preuve d'un bon bilan de réalisations, notamment en ce qui concerne le plaidoyer politique et la promotion de la voix des femmes sur les questions de santé et de développement en Afrique.

Conscients de la nécessité d'une forte capacité organisationnelle et d'une certaine flexibilité pour mettre en œuvre des programmes et des campagnes de premier ordre, nous TrustAfrica sommes fiers de fournir, par le biais de ce mécanisme d'octroi de subventions, un soutien aux organisations de la société civile prometteuses et agiles. Le but poursuivi dans cette subvention est d’aider les bénéficiaires dans leurs opérations, la rétention de leur personnel-clé, le renforcement de leur leadership, l'orientation de leur mission, leur capacité administrative et de gestion et leur stabilité financière. Sont éligibles, les organisations de la société civile qui œuvrent en faveur de la justice entre les sexes, l'inclusion financière et la fourniture de soins de santé équitables. Nous croyons en une société civile forte soutenant un espace holistique pour des efforts divers qui instaurent la confiance et la responsabilité entre les citoyens et leurs institutions. Pour ce faire, nous pensons que ce Soutien aidera la société civile à être plus résiliente, plus agile et plus durable.

We now live in a world where Covid-19 is evenly distributed, but the equal opportunity to fight it is not. Four hundred twenty-two million people living in poverty on the African continent face the greatest risk of their lives. While the health and economic effects of Covid-19 ripple throughout the world, Covid-19 threatens to plunge one in three Africans into the deep end of poverty. We know the safety of those in our most marginalized communities is our collective immunity, yet awareness of our connection with our vulnerable sisters and brothers is almost non-existent.

To respond to this, the Community Immunity Initiative is a coordinated campaign to raise awareness and funding to support those living at the margins of society. Through this initiative, a collaboration between the Africa Philanthropy Network, TrustAfrica, and Southern Africa Trust, we hope to provide quick impact support to bring immediate relief to people living at the margins of society. While supporting policy initiatives, research, and advocacy efforts to provide long-term solutions to combat poverty and marginalization at the systemic level. Also, to ensure culturally contextualized and long-lasting solutions on the African continent are implemented. The initiative is also engaging activists, artists, athletes, medical professionals, musicians, and other respected voices from our global community to raise greater awareness of the impact of poverty and marginalization in Africa so together we can escalate the appropriate response.
