Culture and Identity: Social Movements in Africa and the Legacy of Nelson Mandela and Cheikh Anta Diop

TrustAfrica is pleased to invite you to a conference on the theme: Culture and Identity: Social Movements in Africa and the Legacy of Nelson Mandela and Sheikh Anta Diop. The conference will be held on July 29, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm at TrustAfrica’s offices in Dakar,Senegal.

Organized to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela and Cheikh Anta Diop, this activity is in line with our strategy to support African social movements in their struggles for the advancement of peace and democracy, which are the prerequisites for the sustainable development of Africa and its people.

 The objectives of the Conference are as follows:

  • Pay tribute to Nelson Mandela and Cheikh Anta Diop by highlighting the importance of their heritage and the relevance of their thinking to social movements in Africa;
  • Reflect on and exchange ideas on social movements in Africa.

The conference, introduced by Dr. Dialo Diop and moderated by Dr. Ebrima Sall, will be attended by academics, members of the diplomatic corps, members of civil society and actors of social movements in Africa.
