Centenary of Professor Amadou Mahtar Mbow

On May 29, TrustAfrica will host a webinar titled “Amadou Mahtar Mbow and the Emancipation of Peoples in Africa and Around the World.”

The webinar, which will feature a panel discussion with TrustAfrica’s Executive Director, Dr Ebrima Sall, Dr Jean-Bernard Ouedraogo, journalist Barka Ba, and Vincent Foucher, is part of a series that started on March 27, 2021.

 

TrustAfrica, along with other members of the scientific and pan-Africanist communities, continues to commemorate Professor Amadou Mahtar Mbow’s centenary. The following activities and webinars on various themes have been planned for the centenary celebration:

  • Philosophy and Action of Secular Scouting in the Life and Work of Amadou Mahtar Mbow, hosted by Marie-Louise Corréa, Abdoulaye Élimane Kane, Abdou Salam Fall, and Moussa Mbaye (May 1, 2021).
  • Amadou Mahtar Mbow and the Rewriting of African History, hosted by Abdoulaye Bathily, Theophile Obenga, Thierno Moctar Bah, Boubacar Barry, Rokhaya Fall, Adam Ba-Konaré, and Babacar Diop dit Buuba (May 8, 2021).
  • Political and Citizen Engagement (National Assizes and CNRI) will be hosted by Mamadou Lamine Loum, Babacar Kanté, Abdoulaye Dièye, and Pape Demba Sy on May 15, 2021.
  • Amadou Mahtar Mbow and Human and Citizens’ Rights, to be hosted by Alioune Tine, Pierre Sané, Mame Penda Ba, Selly Ba, and Pape Ibrahima Kane on May 22, 2021.
