TrustAfrica presents the online “Pan Africanism, Feminism, Youth and the Arts: Post-COVID Transition and The Future We Want” Round Table at the 3rd Kwame Nkrumah Pan-African Intellectual and Cultural Festival 15-24 September 2021. 

The Kwame Nkrumah Chair at the Institute of African Studies in collaboration with Feminist Africa and Social, Cultural and Intellectual Movement Partners is hosting the Third Kwame Nkrumah Pan-African Intellectual and Cultural Festival from 15-24 September 2021 to contribute to the ongoing resurgence of pan-African thinking and organising around the regional integration of the African community of nations and its global diaspora. This year’s edition was the first digitally curated version of the two previous festivals responding to the crises of COVID-19, the ongoing political repression and pauperisation of Africa’s marginalised majorities, and the escalation of state, militarist and neo-conservative, fundamentalist violence that have affected women and youth, during the last decade. 

In line with TrustAfrica’s mission to strengthen African initiatives that address the most difficult challenges confronting the continent, TrustAfrica convened a RoundTable discussion on Wednesday 22 September 2021 titled “Pan Africanism, Feminism, Youth and the Arts: Post-COVID Transition and The Future We Want”. This brought together a diverse group of pan-African thought leaders including  Marema Toure Thiam, Vice-Chair of CODESRIA, Briggs Bomba, Programs Director of TrustAfrica, Marie Hélène Pereira, Director of Programmes at RAW Material Company and was moderated by Coumba Toure, Coordinator for Africans Rising and chairperson of the TrustAfrica Board. Use this link  to follow proceeding.
