Jasmine Mickens, Director of the African Reparations and Restitution Fund at TrustAfrica, represented the organization at the Third CARICOM Regional Conference on Reparations, convening policymakers, scholars, civil society leaders and advocates from across Africa and the Caribbean.
The conference, the first major regional forum on reparations in more than a decade, focused on advancing the revised CARICOM Ten-Point Plan for Reparatory Justice and identifying concrete pathways to transform growing calls for reparatory justice into meaningful action.
As Africa and the Caribbean continue to strengthen their collaboration on issues of historical justice, restitution and repair, the conference provided an important platform for dialogue, solidarity and strategic engagement. Participants explored opportunities to deepen cross-regional partnerships and advance a shared agenda for reparatory justice.
Through her participation, Jasmine Mickens reaffirmed TrustAfrica’s commitment to supporting African-led efforts that promote historical accountability, reparations, and stronger Africa-Caribbean cooperation in the pursuit of justice and dignity for affected communities.
