TrustAfrica@20: Advancing Community-Led Climate Resilience in Africa

September 9, 2026

TrustAfrica, through the Africa Resilience Collaborative (ARC), in partnership with PACJA, IIED-LIFE-AR, Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), and the Africa Climate Foundation (ACF), will convene a high-level side event entitled “Tackling Resilience Building from the Bottom of the Pyramid” on 10 September 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

As part of the TrustAfrica@20 commemoration, the event marks two decades of advancing African agency and championing African-led responses to the continent’s most pressing challenges. It will serve as a platform for sharing experiences, fostering dialogue, and exploring innovative approaches to locally led climate action, community-based resilience, and more effective mechanisms for directing climate finance and resources to frontline communities.

The discussion will spotlight the power of African leadership, locally grounded knowledge, and collaborative action in strengthening climate resilience across the continent. Central to the conversation is the recognition that communities are not merely beneficiaries of resilience initiatives, but key actors and leaders in designing, driving, and sustaining adaptation efforts.
