Today’s hearing focused on repression perpetrated against foreigners. Witness Abdourahmane
Gueye explained the conditions of his detention. At the time he was a businessman who one day
traveled to Chad on board a French military aircraft to deliver jewelry. He was arrested and detained
by the DDS. The second witness, Ms. Satta Gaye, spoke about the death of her brother Demba Gaye
who was arrested at the same time as witness Abdourahmane Gueye, but died while in prison of
amoebic dysentery, edema of the lower limbs and severe anemia.
