Report of Workshop on Peace and Conflict in Africa

From June 23 to 27, 2002, the Ford Foundation’s Special Initiative for Africa (SIA) brought together a group of experts from 24 countries, representing the five sub-regions of Africa, for a workshop on Peace and Conflict in Africa. Participants, working primarily in small groups, discussed the problem of conflictin Africa and explored innovative regional solutions to foster peace. This was a pivotal convening in terms of its focus on initiating inter-African partnerships for peace.
