The Public Prosecution versus Habré: Summary of the third hearing held on Thursday, 7 September 2015
At the opening of this day’s court hearing at 9 am, the presiding judge requested the presentation
of interested parties before the court, and instructed the clerk to remind the court of the matter at
hand. The case thus concerns the Public Prosecution versus Hissen Habré, accused of crimes
against humanity, war crimes and torture. Noting the absence of the defendant, the court exercised
its prerogative to force him to appear in the dock. After the arrival of the defendant, the judge
instructed that the order of partial nonsuit, indictment and referral to the Extraordinary African
Chambers be read
