The Public Prosecution versus Hisséne HABRE: SUMMARY OF THE THIRTY-FIFTH HEARING HELD ON 29 OCTOBER 2015

Proceedings were marked by the testimony of Mr. Hissein Robert Gambier, a victim who filed civil
suit. He testified about the torture and other inhuman acts perpetrated in detention centres. He talked
about the conditions of his lengthy detention, which he qualified as hell. He declared, “It was
horrific, Habré created hell and I lived in it; it is the Eternal who saved me”. He was referred to as
the “dean” because of the 5 years he spent in detention.
