The Public Prosecutor vs. Hissein Habre: REPORT NO. 50 OF DECEMBER 7, 2015.

Today’s session featured two witnesses who were heard on the treatment of prisoners of war held
in Ndjamena. The first witness, IZADINE Mahamat Haroun, who also filed a civil action in the
proceedings, talked about his arrest and that of his uncle, with whom he lived. Taken to the
Precedent’s Palace, he allegedly was questioned by President Hissene Habré in person about his
uncle’s activities with the “gang of three “(Abass KOTI, Hassan DJAMOUSS and Idriss DEBY).
The witness, who did not immediately recognize President Habré during the questioning, was, for
that reason, considered a “real enemy” by the former Chadian President. The second witness,
Ousmane ABAKAR, who also filed a civil action, was first imprisoned in Faya before being
transferred to the N’Djamena prison.
