Ms. Beatrice Makwenda is an experienced agricultural development specialist with Agricultural and Business Management professional training. She has extensive experience in local and civil society mobilisation, strengthening capacities to develop impactful programmes, policy influencing and facilitating multi-stakeholder engagements.

Ms. Makwenda has coordinated development of smallholder focused agricultural development programmes, programme implementation and monitoring, policy formulation, advocacy and lobbying specifically in Malawi and more broadly in SubSaharan Africa. Since 2010 as a member of the Malawi CAADP Country Team, Ms Makwenda has continued to significantly contribute to Agriculture and Trade strategy development at country and continental level.

Ms Makwenda is one of the trained CAADP Champions, an alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), a Leadership for Change Fellow and a Vital Voices Fellow.
