Workshop on the Restitution of Studies on Discrimination based on Descent and Slavery in Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania and Niger

January 24th, 2023, by TrustAfrica.

In partnership with the Action for World of Solidarity (ASW), the African Agency for the Fight against Discrimination Based on Work and Descent and Slavery and Amnesty International, TrustAfrica is pleased to invite you to a Workshop on restitution of studies on Discrimination Based on Descent and Slavery in Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania and Niger. This restitution will take place on 13 and 14 September 2021.

As a reminder, the studies were carried out during the current COVID-19 pandemic period. They confirmed the existence and persistence of slavery in these countries.

In addition to the country reports, a documentary film has been made to draw the attention of African and the global community to this degrading phenomenon that is a dent on Africa’s development aspirations, because, now, daughters and sons of the continent are also kept in the bonds of slavery.

The programme will be online and will take place from 09:00 to 13hours 45 GMT.
